Save jailbreak apps before updating
When jailbreaking your i Phone, you always take the chance of messing up with the settings and losing all your Cydia apps.If you “experiment” a lot with your i Phone, I’m sure you’ve had to restore your i Phone on many occasions.Step 7: After you’ve entered the name, the tweak will start to take a backup of all the jailbreak related contents on your device.It should be done within a few minutes depending on the amount of Cydia packages you’ve installed on your device.
In top of backing up and restoring your jailbreak apps, Pkg Backup will also preserve the way your icons are arranged on your springboard.i Clarified has a great tutorial on how to use Pkg Backup. Apt Backup supposedly works the same way as Pkg Backup except it doesn’t save your icons arrangement.
You can also save your backups on a cloud by going to the Settings section and connecting it to a cloud service.

With that warning in mind, there are a number of options for backing up your Cydia tweaks when upgrading to i OS 6.1.2…Open Backup is currently the best solution for restoring your Cydia tweaks.

Open Backup still syncs with i Cloud, but it now supports backups of paid tweaks, has a clean user interface, and can now be used to download copies of installed packages along with their dependencies.
